as an affiliate manager I manage over 5 clients, each requireing care and attention and most importantly recruitment…recruiters get a lot of crap… and its kind of the same thing with affiliate recruitment, lots of cold calling and lots of rejections, but thats the nature of it…and thats the job. I’m used to affiliates telling me the program isnt what their looking for or that they arnt interested and thats fine, you can’t always make a perfect match. But what I can’t handle is rudeness, thats something that really gets me.
As we have databases numbering in the thousands, we can’t always customize emails, time cost just doesnt work out… so sometimes we do have to send out generic mailers, not spam, but cold calling mailers, of course we make efforts to prevent this form being spammy and its not a case of emailing everyone, we pre-select. Once i get an email that their not interested, the email is removed from the list for that program and not contacted again.
My gripe is with the abuse i occasionally get for doing my job the best i can, no need to swear, just tell me your not interested, and I’ll stop contacting you for that program. Its frustrating, as how else can an affiliate manager try to bring a greater amount of awareness to an affiliate program, forums and social media groups only go so far, after that its down to contacting sites based on searches.
